Speakers Bios
Real Story Group, Silver Spring, MD Tony Byrne oversees all of The Real Story Group's technology streams and properties, which include CMS Watch, Enterprise Information Watch, and SharePoint Watch.
In 2001, Tony founded CMS Watch as a vendor-independent analyst firm that evaluates content technologies and publishes research comparing different solutions head-to-head. Over time, CMS Watch evolved into a multi-channel research and advisory organization, spinning off similar product evaluation research in various areas of Enterprise Content Management. As a result of this natural evolution, in 2010, The Real Story Group became the parent company of CMS Watch and its sister entities, EI Watch and SharePoint Watch.
Tony is the original author of The Real Story Group's Web Content Management research, a former journalist, and a 20-year technology industry veteran. Prior to 2001, he managed an engineering team at a systems integration firm. He now focuses his own research on Enterprise Community and Collaboration software, SharePoint, and Web Content Management.
During the last decade, Tony has advised clients such as the US Dept. of the Treasury, the American Association of Retired Persons, MBC Television of Dubai, The Canadian Cancer Society, and The Seattle Children's Hospital.

Don has overseen IMERGE’s internal use of SharePoint since 2000, long before widespread industry adoption. Don and his staff has excellent hands-on experience in dealing with breakthroughs and challenges of utilizing SharePoint for collaboration and information management. Don is recognized by Microsoft as a industry analyst, and attended the SharePoint Conference in Las Vegas in October 2009 at Microsoft’s invitation. In April 2009 Don was the keynote speaker at the Rocky Mountain SharePoint Conference. IMERGE has been engaged by several clients to assist in the evaluation or optimization of SharePoint, usually in combination with other ECM systems and records program development.
Don served as Chair of the AIIM2005 Conference, Chair of the TAWPI2006 Conference and has spoken at dozens of conferences and webinars. Previously, he was Senior Manager of Xerox Professional Services, and a Senior Consultant with A.T. Kearney Management Consultants. Don was one of the first 28 CDIAs. He has led IMERGE's training practice since 2005 to provide workshops for AIIM’s ERM-ECM certificate program, CDIA+ and TAWPI's ICP. In the past 15 years he has taught several workshops on records and information management.
Lori Ashley, Principal Consultant Tournesol Consulting, Douseman WI Lori Ashley, Tournesol Consulting, is a Wisconsin-based consultant, writer/editor, and educator dedicated to helping public and private sector organizations improve the performance of processes, practices and controls for their valued information assets. Consulting engagements for small, medium and large organizations range from strategic planning, policies and procedures development, records retention schedule modernization, development of taxonomies and classification schemas, training, requirements analysis as well as RIM program and ECM project implementation support. Ms. Ashley is well versed in international and national standards in records and information management, metadata, thesauri development, and long-term digital preservation.

Mike joined Datastore in 2008 and has led the company’s dramatic digital information transformation that took the company from being the largest independent records now being a leader in electronic information and technology management solutions. Michael Blumenthal, Senior Consultant Magenic, Chicago, IL Michael Blumenthal is a SharePoint solutions architect and Senior Consultant with Magenic, a Microsoft Gold Partner and National Systems Integrator. He has been in IT for 15 years and has been implementing collaboration and business productivity solutions on the SharePoint platform since 2003. Michael has designed, implemented, and supported SharePoint intranets, extranets, and Internet sites for clients in markets as diverse as Banking, Energy, Government, and Transportation. Michael holds multiple Microsoft certifications (MCTS: MOSS Configuration, WSS Configuration, WSS Development; MCAD; MCDBA; MCSE) and is a Certified Associate of Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute. Michael is also a member of the leadership team for the Chicago SharePoint Users Group and its webmaster. Michael speaks on SharePoint topics locally and nationally at conferences including SharePoint Saturday Chicago, SharePoint Connections, and Microsoft Virtual Tech Days.
Ken Burns, CDIA+, ECMm, Manager for Industry Communications Hyland Software, Westlake, OH Ken Burns leads the teams responsible for market intelligence, analyst relations and corporate communications at Hyland Software. Hyland develops OnBase, an award-winning document and process management software suite built entirely on Microsoft's .NET platform. Hyland is a Microsoft Gold Certified as well as a Managed ISV Partner (the latter is a distinction reserved for the top 1% of Microsoft's 30,000 partners). The company sits on Microsoft's Office Advisory Council and is participating in the SharePoint Adoption Program.
Steven Fischer, SharePoint Solution Architect Concurrency, Milwaukee, WI Steven has been imagining, designing and building business productivity and workflow applications for fifteen years, with a focus on Microsoft’s .NET and SharePoint technologies. He is an architect and team lead for Concurrency's application development team in Milwaukee, WI. His team of .NET solution developers have built more than sixty applications on the SharePoint platform for companies in the banking, manufacturing, engineering, and information technology industries.

Joe Greenberg, Partner Account Manager Microsoft Enterprise Search Group http://www.microsoft.com/enterprisesearch Joe Greenberg has been involved in the development and implementation of solutions in the information data management, enterprise business intelligence and knowledge management field for the past 20 years. In 2006 Joe became an Alliance Director at FAST Search and Transfer out of Oslo, Norway, one year later FAST was acquired by Microsoft. Today Joe is responsible for alliance and partner development for Microsoft’s Enterprise Search group in the Central United States.
American Transmission Co., Waukesha, WI Herb Foster leads the Asset Records Group at the American Transmission Co. He is responsible for the records related to the company’s physical assets. He has recently led the implementation of SharePoint at ATC, and has added SharePoint Administrator to his duties.
Previously Mr. Foster served as Records Manager for Harza Engineering and Siemens Power Corporation. He is member of the Association of Record Managers and Administrators, and currently serves as President elect for the Milwaukee chapter, and is a member of the Institute of Certified Records Managers. He has more than twenty years of experience in records and information management.
Chris Maertz, MCSD, CDIA+, ECMS, Director of Technology & ECM Services Security MicroImaging, Milwaukee, WI In his 9 years with Security MicroImaging, Chris Maertz helps clients develop strategic roadmaps to address the ECM needs of the organization. Additionally, Chris is responsible for determining which ECM technologies are positioned and deployed at Security MicroImaging’s 250+ ECM clients. As a trained software developer using Microsoft technologies, Chris closely follows Microsoft initiatives and has worked on numerous projects integrating Microsoft technologies at various levels. Chris is a member of Hyland Software’s Developer Advisory Council.
KnowledgeLake, Chicago, IL Mike Miller is a Systems Engineer with KnowledgeLake, Inc based in Chicago. Mike has spent his career focusing on ECM (Enterprise Content Management) solutions. He has exposure and experience with both large and small implementations involving all aspects of document capture, imaging and ECM. He has focused exclusively on building ECM solutions on SharePoint for the past three years with the KnowledgeLake solution.

Shawn has spent more than twenty years in the information technology field. Rich Wood, ECM Practice Team Lead Microsoft VTSP Concurrency, Brookfield, WI Rich Wood is an AIIM-certified ECM Master who serves as Concurrency's primary Information Architect and ECM Practice Team Lead. A Microsoft Virtual Technology Solutions Professional (Virtual TSP) in the use of Microsoft’s SharePoint business productivity platform, Rich has several highly visible SharePoint 2010 Proofs-of-Concept and dozens of MOSS 2007 engagements under his belt. Rich regularly delivers stranding-room-only seminars on topics related to the SharePoint platform, digital collaboration, and Enterprise Content Management. Rich is a native of South Milwaukee, WI and a 1996 graduate of Marquette University.
Chris Youngren, Vice President Risetime, Chicago, IL Chris manages the Risetime Content Management and Workflow practice while ensuring the delivery of superior solutions to our clients. These areas focus on Microsoft and Open Text solutions and as such Chris is responsible for managing our Microsoft Gold Partner and Open Text Premier Partner relationships, as well as strategic relationships with other business and technology partners throughout North America. In addition, as a Vice President, Chris is actively involved in setting the overall strategic direction of the firm.
Chris provides leadership to our clients for reengineering and redesigning business practices and architecting new applications to automate business processes leveraging Content Management and Workflow tools. Since joining Risetime in 2001, Chris has led teams implementing Content Management and Workflow solutions for numerous clients representing a diverse cross section of industry - from local/state government and non-profit organizations to financial and healthcare. Prior to joining Risetime, Chris was a Managing Consultant for Xpedior (Metamor Technologies), leading projects and teams in the full life cycle development of custom business solutions for a variety of clients.
